I believe for a while that "G" trains did go up in that area, but only during the nighttime hours, towards 179th Street. When just prior to the opening of the Archer Avenue extension, there were actual signs made up to have "N" trains (and nighttime "G" shuttles)at least go through and stop at Van Wyck Boulevard, but never happened.-William A.
