Of course,but we often advocate all kinds of new rail construction without appreciating the cost some people pay.I agree. Of course, this applies to all construction projects. I someone decides to build a mega mall next to a residential area, it will negatively impact the housing there during construction, and potentially even when it opens. Ditto for power plants, highways and private projects. It's not something exclusive to rail projects. Sometimes NIMBY attitudes are motivated by life or death issues. This is hardly life or death. |
