I don't agree with that. It's a prescription for tyranny. People who subscribe to that generally see themselves as part of the "many."

The man should be entitled to compensation for his loss. The article is silent on that. Also, I argue with its emphasis on light rail construction. I was around from beginning to end of the great era of highway construction in the U.S., and the stories of businesses going broke because the formerly main highway was now a backwater, of businesses, homes and farms obliterated, were commonplace. The common attitude then was "aww, that's too bad, but you can't stop progress."
