I grew up in a two fare zone until it was eliminated when Archer Avenue opened. Moved to Suffolk later. In the first place I lived in Suffolk, there was a bus that connected directly to the train station and it was not a long ride. Very few took that option. Most in my area took their cars to the station instead. Now you could argue more bus service would mean more riders, but I think the folks just prefered the flexibility of driving, especially with a free lot and usually enough available parking. |
