Take a field trip to Kenosha, WI some day and watch all the reverse commuters along the UP-North Line from Chicago and Evanston board buses to their places of employment in Racine. Illinois is more automobile oriented than Long Island.The concept worked fine a few years ago when they closed down a Suufolk county road even though it was a make-shift set-up. MTA committed about $50M to purchase these things and it was not on a whim. |
