Oh, I don't know. While I heard a lot about making the doors locked, no one told me if the windows are locked too. But that would also make the doors unopenable since there are no door knobs on the inside of MkIII coaches' doors.

The reason Mk.3 had no door knobs inside is because back when they had knobs inside, they had a lot of 'accidental openings' while the train is travelling at high speeds, resulting in 'suicides' of otherwise successful and content people.

Also, the other reason is to force whoever might be tempted to open the door while the train is pulling into the station to at least lean out and look to see if there are anyone standing beyond the yellow line on the platform before they opened the door to knock them over!

Thinking the English way, I assume that they don't lock the windows but I wouldn't bet on it. (And BTW, I used to do that too.)

I'm not sure how they would ever retrofit Mk.3 with sliding doors. I guess we shall see.
