You're thinking of New London. Note that New London's current high level platform is incompatible with the M8's, as there is an extremely large gap. Even the Amtrak/SLE trains which use that platform (which have end doors where the gap isn't QUITE as bad) need to put down a bridge to fill the gap.

Mystic & Westerly both have low level platforms which are on sharp curves (what is it with building stations on sharp curves in this area?), making it very difficult to add a high level platform at either station. I don't know about Mystic, but Westerly does have a portable lift available for disabled passengers.
