Amtrak reschedules station stops in Westerly, Mystic (CT)

Amtrak drops several local stops

Westerly-area residents who take Amtrak need to know that two Amtrak stops in Westerly and two in Mystic have been removed from the schedule.

The Westerly Sun reported that the 9:40 a.m. and the 1:54 p.m. Westerly stops on trains from New York Penn Station have been dropped. And the 9:32 a.m. and 1:43 p.m. Mystic stops have also been eliminated.

One stop has been added in the 11 a.m. hour at those two stations.

An Amtrak spokesman said the revisions will allow for two major track and rail bridge improvement projects in the Northeast Corridor area.
