You were more entertaining when you were on your "convert PATH to HBLR" kick . .We should do that when after we build the New Jersey Transit side of the downtown loop. Once you have direct service to downtown at near rapid transit levels, there isn't much need for PATH anymore, so it makes far more sense to re-allocate PATH's network for inner suburban areas that have no service, and the use of light rail allows us to serve somewhat marginal areas of urban New Jersey that don't have existing rail corridors. Otherwise, at minimum, PATH should be integrated into NJT's ticketing structure along with buses and light-rail. |
