Here's the other interesting part. Now that the news has been posted on the web, and at other sites - it is going to be harder for this person to find another job with similar pay, benefits, etc. Many companies do background checks - so this information about him can be easily found. In the mythical past - some things could have been "hidden under the rug" while the person is removed from the job, and they look for work elsewhere.

In light of the current economy, the level of job-lessness, the difficulty of finding similar work where other folk know of your reputation, etc. - this was a "very bad move".

Just my thoughts.
