Chambers on the J is living, breathing history of a different era of transit, when we still dared to think big. The open but abandoned side platform is a time capsule from the 1930s. Chambers is a treasure - walk down it's gloomy platforms and think of the millions upon millions who have been there before you, when Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig were still playing and "talkies" were the next big thing. |
