I was two trains behind the 5 train which was affected by the 12-9.

The ride was supposed to be from Bowling Green to Gun Hill/Seymour on the 5, a ride even under the notorius slow conditions on the Lext during the PM rush - - should take an hour and 10 minutes tops.

6:40 PM - - Arrived at Bowling Green, passed on Burnside 4 train (that would have been the best move because it was stuck behind the 5). Eastchester 5 train was 7 minutes away.

6:55 PM - - I am taking up the drunken RF window of the 5 train, things seems to be moving good until we got the Brooklyn Bridge - - homeballs and holding lights on both local and express tracks. I though, uh oh this is not going to work.

7 PM - - we had the orders to run on the local track, local stops to 42/GC. I was hoping we can just get past Bleecker at least.

7:10 PM - - EMS, police and FD all over Bleecker - - they were trying to find the body that was struck by a train. The 4 train was stuck south of Spring, the 5 train was stuck between Spring and Bleecker with the T/O on the roadbed with flashlight. Train is held at Bleecker

7:20 PM - - Gave up at Bleecker (PD and FD were getting onto roadbed to look for the body.), so I walked outside to B'way-Lafayette for anything to 34th or 42nd Street, D comes in.

With all that going on and the delays, I didn't get to Gun Hill until 8:40 PM, nearly two hours since I boarded a 5 train at Bowling Green.
