I saw that TfL estimates that they lose £20 million per year to fare evasion on the tube (much more on buses). That's fairly similar to NY given the difference in ridership and ticket prices. Surprising because London seems much better staffed. But they have to jump through hoops to even issue a ticket. They bend over backwards unless that's just for the camera. |
