How many people are injured and killed in traffic accidents versus Metro accidents in the DC area?In the universe I live in there is no such thing as an accident. I sometimes think rail is held to a ridiculously high safety standard. With all the pieces and part, the fact that the trains are operated in a controlled environment, the reams of documents that are used to keep those pieces and part working to designed specification, there is no excuse for trains to be crashing into each other. The event of 06 23 2009 was the result of the above NOT being followed to the T ! John in the sand box of Maryland's eastern shore. |
