Mind you, I'm biased due to personal reasons to seeing such a project happen, but given what we blew the money on, I suspect that this extension is probably a better use of resources. At the time, because the V was running, we would have argued for some switches for the V to switch from the local to the express tracks, follow express tracks to Grand, and then build switches for an expanded four track station. Of course, it would have been nice to have that work coincide with Manhattan Bridge repair work... |
