It means that the trains are using wireless communication to let the rest of the system know where they are, how fast they're going, and also receive input on what speed they're allowed to travel at.That is not the definition of CBTC, unless in the US, it means that. And if by wireless, you mean RF based, the CBTC used in Paris and other places are induction loop based but they are definitely Communication Based Train Control. |
