It's replacement date will coincide with the Montague St tunnel receiving CBTC.Or when Siemens stops/has become unable to supply parts for it. That happened for an entire class of cars at a certain railway in Japan to which Siemens originally supplied the VVVF inverters. Now they are replacing the whole inverters to domestic ones (Mitsubishi and Toshiba, IIRC). |
