Paris' ATO is a fixed block system (so far) and the full conventional wayside signaling has been kept. In theory, an experienced driver should be able to handle rush hour manual driving sandwiched between ATO trains. It's just that they don't allow manual driving once past a certain frequency.Once they make the shift to moving blocks, bye bye Museum runs. Whether manual or automatic, the train has to be moving block capable or it will need absolute blocks. |
