If the MTA had any sense, there shouldn't be. The problem with the MTA lately is that AFAIK, the agency doesn't stipulate that all classes of NTTs MUST be fully compatible with all other classes. When the PA-4s were delivered, PATH made sure that all the previous car types that were GOHed would be fully compatible with the PA-4s so that they could run in mixed trains. NYCT failed to even ensure that all the GOH care could run with each other. Although in theory they were supposed to be able to the MTA failed to actually double check on their compatibility so that the manufacturers could be taken to task for their failure to meet requirements. |
