See, that's the fallacy of this whole Dulles extension. Most of the big, stone-front or glass-front office buildings you see in Tyson's corner owned by giant insurance companies or giant banks or giant defense contractors? There is no pedestrian entrance. The only way in is to walk in through the parking garage. Normally I'd rail against the retail establishments with 4 acres of parking you have to walk through just to get to the front door. But not this time. This time they're the best possible scenario for pedestrian access. Of course, after Tyson's is opened and rail passengers have to walk somewhere from a station, crossing route 7 will seem pretty minor compared to the other inconveniences they encounter on their way to any destination. |
