I was partners with a musician with "Elephant's Memory" in a business on 233rd to the east of WPR. While the 3rd Avenue el ran, it was fairly tolerable getting back and forth from the storefront and studio. Once the el was torn down though, that would have been a gigundo pain in the butt. One of the big problems with the Bronx is that you can only go transit north and south from wherever you are and bus service absolutely chewed dead donkey lungs east and west. Having that IND crosstown really would have made a major difference wherever it went. |
