When the center track through Nevins St existed, there was no spur track between Nevins and Atlantic. Before the realignment of the Nevins/Atlantic area, the present spur track was the N/B express track and the present N/B express track was the N/B lcl track. Where the N/B lcl track presently is, was a ramp up from what would have been an IRT connection to the 4 Av subway which would have been used if the IRT had been assigned the 4 Av subway. Since the BRT/BMT got the 4 Av subway, that ramp was not needed and sat unused until it was covered over to make the trackway for the realigned N/B lcl track. When the tracks were realigned, the former N/B lcl track became the new N/B express track and the former N/B express track became the present Nevins St spur. |
