Why do people keep saying that the Governor "bans smoking on LIRR & Metro North platforms"? Isn't it rather that the legislature passed a law or an authorization for the MTA agencies to ban smoking? The Governor may have signed legislation but I doubt if he has any power to "ban" anything other than smoking in his office or residence.Ed Alfonsin Potsdam, New York |
