A road like Queens Blvd that has four roadways, all divided, it's obvious while making your turn where the opposing directions of traffic are. Unless knocked down, there are signs, there's paint on the road, also visible; white for the right shoulder, yellow for the left in the direction of travel...even the traffic ON the road will give you a clue, since opposing traffic will be STOPPED at the signal where you're turning!If there's a divider separating traffic going in the same direction then an observant driver can see how wide this road he's about to turn on to is, and will act appropriately, no matter how unfamiliar they are with the area. |
