And what would run on the Delta? The issue was both budgetary and chronology, using rebuilt parts from the R-44 to SMS the R-68 saved several million dollars and also allowed the R-68 SMS to proceed when delays in getting bull gears would have stopped the truck portion of the SMS program. |
