That sounds like a superb short time fix.As long as we're fantasizing.... They might present some passenger training issues. I can hear all the WTF's now, as eleven, or twelve car sets squeezed in to the stations. Perhaps it would be best to confine them to BMT/East, where nine car sets would be the max allowable, and reuse the sixty foot R143, R160, and 160B's on the rest of the "B" division. How much of a shortfall of failing R42, R32's and R44 we talkin' about? How many PA4-3-2 are becoming available? It would have been nice if those R110Bs were Rehabbed and made compatible with the R143s, and R160s. Nine cars are nine cars. I'd like to see those Broad Street cars from Philly sporting around NYC. There was once a time WASHINGTON D.C. TRANSIT bailed out the NYC Surface Lines with surplus Fish Bowls. Anybody from Buschat remember and care to comment? avid |
