Why would they need to compensate the railroad?I suspect it's for whatever ancillary expenses have been paid already in regards to engineering and other pre-construction costs. Besides, if anything, not building the project hurts a portion of their business model given that the plan is to basically speed up railway service between the Rhine-Neckar region, Stuttgart, and Munich, and it's necessary to make the TGV services from Paris to Munich remotely viable. I suspect DB isn't ultimate thrilled with the current operations into the Hbf and I don't think it's willing to have trains bypass the station as it does at Frankfurt... |
