Can you show that timetable you're talking about, and how many stops the train made?For a modern comparison, NJT takes two hours to go from Hoboken to Hackettstown on trains that make almost all stops on the Montclair-Boonton. I would not call a route that's still in operation, even for freight, "long dead". A route that has been abandoned for several years and had the tracks torn up might. NJT did have plans during the 90s to run trains from Hoboken to West Haverstraw, via the Meadowlands and Secaucus "Junction" station. |
