Posted by Train Man Paul : Metro-North's Best Conductor FOR ALL 3 LINES!!! on Sun May 15 12:24:30 2011 Now having foamed over 2 very nice freights CSX NI-SELKIRK sent our way, I was planning to go either along the PVL or Main/Bergen and shoot over there, when as I headed southward on Route 9W (which of note, passes directly over the south mouth of the Haverstraw Tunnel on the CSX River Line), I saw this BEAUTIFUL sight, and just HAD to stop, go out with the camera and shoot!!! Foamin' plenty now, and you will see why!!!Look out over the land, with the groan of powerful six-axles reverberating across the countryside, along comes northbound CSX Q410, Rice Yard Waycross GA to Selkirk Yard Albany NY, with yet another CW44AH 578 with sister (thru reclassification from a CW44AC) 5103 with a mixed mass of manifest from the South, apporaching........  Gettin' closer......  Closer......  And ready for the tunnel, with a beautiful Nathan K-series aingin' her heart out as a warning to any dumbasses caring to be in the tunnel!!  NOW, THE CHASE IS ON!! Back to Hsverstraw Station a little to the north to catch this bad ass bitch!!! And of course, you know you friendly, neighborhood #1 Conductor NEVER misses a train!! (Barely made it thanks to "Sunday drivers" going 10 MPH below the speed limit) and I got back just in time (while parking off the side of the road by the crossing) t make the catch!! Q410, ALL UP IN YA' FACE!!! :-D  Passin' the station, with not a single nod!!   Thunderin' on by with the usual mixed bag 'o' junk (boxcars, hoppers, tanks, trash containers, etc etc)  Off to Selkirk  On the way back, real quick, we pass thru the town of Congers, where yet another old NYC station stands, not as good as the other stations, but happy to see it still exists    Hope you all have enjoyed the action!!
