Maybe they wanted to protect the usable part of the tunnel from the dirt that kept falling in so they built a wall to keep it out? Or maybe it was just creepy and the wall made it less so. In any case, they were probably just putting a finish on a tunnel that just came to an end without any protection.My guess is there is another 5-10 feet of tunnel at most. |
