If my memory serves me correctly, that would be about right. A7 and A8 yard leads had rail installed and were at one time connected by switches to A5 and A6 inside the portal. I haven't been able to find out exactly how far the rail was laid but yard moves were definitely made into those tracks. When I first went in there in 1962, there were no cinder block walls but the tunnels ended in mounds of earth, By that time the switches had been removed and although I don't recall whether or not the rails were still in, I do recall that the home signals and their associated stop arms protecting the now removed switches were still functioning (displaying red over red with the stop arms up of course). By the time I returned there in 1983, the cinder block walls had been put up and the signals although still in place were no longer functioning and the stop arm mechanisms had been removed. Why MOW didn't remove the signals completely for possible use at some other location I never figured out but the lenses on the signals had been removed. As I have mentioned before in other posts where then tracks end under Pitkin Av, the concrete wall at the end of the tunnel has a unique configuration and the S/B lcl tk A1 is shorter than the other 3 tracks so much that a full 600 ft train cannot be laid up there so that track was the least used of any of the lay up tracks in that area since until the C started running there all the service operating to the Euclid area used 600 ft trains.
