(Re: Q About LTV Squad and 76th Street), posted by BMTLines on Sun Jan 23 15:01:54 2011. the queens loop was backfilled.at GCT,looking towards 5th.ave the begining of the loop was filled in.the middle section,between the 2 tracks is a pump room.across from the pump room is the 3rd section which is as it was when it was abandonded.I have been in this section several times in the last 10 years.as of 3 years ago the t.a.put a gate across the entrance,so if you don`t have the right key,you ain`t gettin` in.the forth section has been turned an air shaft,you can look down from the street as the grating is large.the 3rd section is the most interesting,talk about stepping back in time over a 100 years.the 4th section has no remants of the trolley tunnel. |
