Historical terminology isn't dead.Some conductors still drop references to "the Eighth Avenue Line" or to "the Sixth Avenue Line". MTA heads themselves have used line names during press conferences, they show up from time to time in service advisories, on their tweets, and they show up plain as day on those new monitors at Stillwell Avenue. As long as there are side signs, the line names aren't going anywhere anytime soon. |
