As a result it is utterly ludicrous to voluntarily give up on the creation of economically viable mass transit systems I've spent a lot of time reading about the reform and privatization of Japanese National Railways lately. What they did circa 1970~1990 is what needs to be done to create an "economically viable" mass transit system. It's really ugly. And I think personally I would hate to have that kind of thing happen here. You should read more about it. And of course expanding mass transportation is the sort of undertaking which will both help to employ people to get us out of this depression Not really true. Most economists agree that infrastructure spending does very little to curb short-term unemployment compared to investment in other sectors. This is not to say we shouldn't invest in mass transit, but that investment in mass transit isn't really a good economic stimulus tool if that is your goal. aem7ac |
