When I was a platform C/R at Canal St BMT, an NYCTA cop mentioned that he had a problem with a Chinese fare beat who played the "No speak English" routine. The cop said well in that case I have to bring you to the precinct where there is an interpreter available. The Asian perp seemed to develop a rather quick command of the English language when he heard that. |
