When a jammer on ham radio (someone who transmits inappropriate things, or prevents others from speaking) comes on the air, most radio club's policies are to ignore the jammer and just continue your conversation as if the jammer wasn't there. That way you are not baiting the jammer, and he usually goes away or finds another repeater to jam, where he may not be ignored. The same policy should be used here, just ignore all inappropriate messages, continue on as if it never existed. By acknowledging him/her, you are baiting him/her to continue. Over 50% of the messages posted have absolutely nothing to do about trains/subways, most baiting the inappropriate ones, etc.While I'm on the topic of ignoring, if someone makes a comment about something, do we really need 47 comments with "Yes", or "No" or "IMHO", or "Me to", and no other words to add to the topic? |
