The point is that the Canadians are stating that it will be more profitable to build a pipeline and sell it to the chinese than to continue to ship it to us. Given that the pipeline insures us that supply and creates 20,000 jobs, I don't see it as a bad thing. |

Transportation is a small factor in the overall cost of crude. I still maintain that the president could immediately knock $1 per gallon off the cost of gasoline by stopping summer and winter blending of gasoline. You say that there is not much the president could do. There is one thing he can and should do. President Bush failed to do it to his discredit. The elimination of these additives to gasoline would not only lower fuel prices but they would lower prices of meats and foods made from corn and cane sugar. (AND THAT AIN'T NO BULLSHIT) |

Its absence is not raising the price of oil in any major way, though.Are you aware there already is a major pipeline from Calgary to Vancouver? There is nothing currently keeping the Canadians from selling their oil to the highest bidder. There are also plenty of existing pieplines from Canada to the US. |
