NOAA Chief Scientist Investigating Why Agency Backed Trump Vs. Its Own Experts

In defense of NOAA management, the NWS office said that Dorian would not strike Alabama, when the more technically correct statement would have been that it was highly unlikely to strike Alabama or not expected to strike Alabama.

NOAA management also did not say that Trump's statement that Dorian was likely to strike Alabama was correct (which it wasn't).

Alabama was never in the official forecasts issued by the National Hurricane Center, something local NWS meteorologists kept pointing out, even in the face of Trump's blatant insistence that he was right and the scientific evidence was wrong.

NOAA refuted this in favor of Trump, who almost certainly ordered the agency to back him up.

McLean is the acting Chief Scientist at NOAA. By ordering an integrity investigation into Trump's bullshit, he has to know it's career suicide. I applaud him for doing it anyway.

Yes and southern Florida was evacuated on a whim. Point is early models are inprecise and are wrong more often than the are correct. None of the early predictions were less wrong than the one that pointed to Alabama but only a petty, hate driven media would use it to feed their petty, hate driven loser followers.
