Yup. Though due to difficulty in getting to a mass in the Capital Region, I often end up at 'ordinary' services.

In the Capital region we have one in Troy (with the only decent bus service on weekdays, so I only get to go on Holy Days of Obligation). If any church in Albany County were to start offering one, I would be set.

As for NYC, Rockparkman's list is pretty complete. I would add that since St. Agnes is right by Grand Central, and Holy Innocents is close enough to Penn Station/PABT, that anyone in the NY metro area can easily integrate a Latin Mass as part of a Sunday in the city.

Yes but many bishops are beginning to ban altar girls. Heck, the bishop out here wanted to ban serving wine to the lay people at masses a few months ago.

Traditional Catholicism is the only thing that keeps me from being agnostic.

That doesn't make sense. You're saying that if it weren't for traditional Catholicism you would not believe in God?

Yes, actually. Mainly because the prevalent form of Christianity in the US is obviously a construction of man. "Progressive" Catholicism is no different from Protestantism: a bunch of people trying to "interpret" Christianity, 2 millenia after the last primary source on the matter was made. Many treat it like a book club where the only book is the Bible, which is all well and good except:
-they are relying on a translation
-it is too far removed from the context it was originally written for

In a world where everyone makes up their own religious rules, there is no way to know which is correct, so the intelligent, rational course of action is to suspend all belief.

However, Religions like Eastern Orthodox or Traditional Catholicism are timeless. They do not give the appearance of changing to the whims of mankind. The sobering thought that 1,000 years ago, people were doing the exact same thing is enough of a sign that God may actually have a hand in this, and allows me to continue to believe.

Though there is a possibility that if the traditional Christian religions were somehow completely killed off before I had a chance to discover them, I may have gravitated towards Judaism, but more likely I simply would have said 'to hell with it'.

When do any of the non-liberals ever say something like "I wasn't responding to you". That's a liberal trait when backed in a corner.

It refers to the national government in reference to not being able to do blue laws and stuff like that, however, it is a state right, as dumb as they are.

1000 years is nothing though. Why do you think people got it right 1500 years ago but not earlier or later? I say that with things like the plague, the Middle Ages was the time most foresaken by God. Perhaps he was angry at how he was worshipped and society became better with the Protestant Reformation because he was finally satisfied.

Ah, but the idea that God favors religious goodness with material rewards on earth is not part of the pre-Reformation Christian Church or the post-Reformation Roman Catholic Church. It is particularly a Protestant concept. :)

Correct indeed.
