Where can *I* score some? Heh. You might want to ask yourself WHY Viagra is covered at all, while BIRTH CONTROL PILLS aren't? Nope ... republican congress made it that way. Geez ... stop listening to bigots. :(

In New York, abortion is covered by Medicaid. This should be the case in every state.

Doesn't a minor child need to bring proof of his/her parent's income to apply for Medicaid? If the Medicaid application can be made for the procedure without involving the parents in any way then I will reconsider my position but if the parents are in any way financially responsible then they have a right to decide where/how their money is spent.

I agree with you. Many of the "illegal immigrants" in question have full time jobs. Federal, State and FICA taxes are being withheld. In many cases they would even be due REFUNDS if they filed a return but don't because of their status. Most illegals are NOT sitting at home collecting welfare and medicaid like certain politicians would have us believe.

Some have drivers licenses - they were able to get them back in the days when they were a lot easier to obtain. There was a time when they did not require pictures on your license and I believe just bringing in several utility bills was enough for proof of residency.

As for those who don't have drivers licenses - if they have jobs and can afford a car they are probably driving anyway and UNINSURED. If they are given a license they will do like the rest of us and buy insurance. We are only hurting ourselves by denying them a license to drive.

As for whether or not they belong here in the first place and whether or not they should be rounded up and deported that is another issue.

As opposed to the way it is now, where the insurers collect much higher premiums from you so the drug sellers can be out on the corner doing the same thing. If you're going to be ripped off, you have a better shot off controlling it with a government program than you do with an insurer.

The IRS itself has reported on the taxes paid by illegal immigrants. In Missouri and Kansas, close to $20 million in each state in income taxes last year were collected from illegal immigrants using phony social security numbers. Those immigrants collected no federal benefits, and paid local real estate taxes in the form of rent to a landlord. They did send their kids to school here, which is a quid pro quo for the property taxes. So out here, illegal immigrants subsidize the legal ones due to the surplus of taxes they pay.

As to what would happen if they all could get licenses, I don't know, and neither do you.

Actually, I do know. The drivers license as we now know it could no longer be used as a secure form of Photo ID. But the NY governor has thought about that one, too. He suggests a 3 tier licensing system in NY where the top tier would be issued to US born citizens and legal resident aliens and could be used as proof of identity. Of course since he is a democrat, there will ba an additional $20.00 fee on top of the usual $50.00 fee for the tier 1 license. Just another 'democrat' finding yet another excuse for another tax.

And yet the people of the state blindly voted for the putz...:(

If only the GOP had picked someone earlier...Putzer had that election sewn up when the GOP was trying to choose between Faso and Weld. So much for a multiple-party state, New York is barely more open than Cuba or North Korea in election diversity.
