I suspect he could have done a lot better if Boehner and McConnell understood the word "compromise" ...but BOTH sides of the aisle have spent the past three years and change digging in even deeper. It's not like Obama refused to negotiate and that's the reason why I won't blame him alone like the other side of the aisle is. |

Are you familiar with the particularly gritty "oil" that comes from the tar sands? It's FAR more corrosive than regular earl ... the problems that they've been having have been the result of scouring INSIDE the pipelines and failing to remedy it until after they burst. Seriously, if you look into Enbridge's problems (particularly in Canada) you'll see why there's tremendous concern about their problems. And as to jet fuel and such in NYC ... Mobil ... Brooklyn. |

For the first 2 years of his administration he had a majority of the senate and the house. He still accomplished nothing. At least Bill Clinton, when faced with similar issues, was able to build a consensus and get things done. You can pretend to disagree all you want but there are two facts that are inescapable.Obama's policies have been abject failures (for whatever reason you want to ascribe to them) Obama has not shown the leadership necessary to build coalitions across party lines and successfully lead. |

I don't understand what "Mobil Brooklyn" means but there are over 2,000 petro-chemical pipelines in use in the USA every day and we never give a thought to them. I'm quite sure that if the oil coming from Canada presented any unique problems, the pipeline would be engineered to handle them. OR are you suggesting that such would be impossible? |

If you hired a guy to fix your roof because there was a leak in the bedroom, you wouldn't care why it was leaking. You'd want it fixed. If the guy you hired didn't fix it and not the livingroom had leaks to, you'd want to sue the bastard. Let me give it to you straight. We have fucking leaks in every room now that we didn't have 3 1/2 years ago. The guy YOU hired to fix the roof has fucked it up worse than ever. I want a new guy who is going to fix it. And after all, this is a republican Governor who's stopping the construction and wanted it diverted away from his water before the rest of that pipeline gets built. Cut me a check and I'll do the research. If the oil is so corrosive as you suggest then what makes it safe to transport by rail as the liberals want to do? Are you suggesting that corrosive chemicals cannot be transported safely via pipeline? And lets leave your favorite red herring, Halliburton out of the discussion unless you are suggesting that the gulf spill was due to a petro-chemical pipeline failure.
