I think it's only supposed to be unlocked from the inside (patrons can exit by use of a crash bar (I think that's what it's called), while not allowing access from the outside (else assholes would just sneak in w/out paying). And what has come out now is that Holmes purchased a ticket, went inside, then at some point exited via the emergency exit, but somehow kept it from closing, got his gear from his car, reentered and the rest is history. Now, someone could possibly make a case that an audible alarm should've sounded when he exited, but who knows. |
