RIP Jon Lord (Deep Purple) |
Posted by Fred G on Mon Jul 16 14:11:23 2012 He was there from the beginning. the first clip is from Hugh Hefner After Dark and was the first version of the band. The second clip is Highway Star from Machine Head. Nuff said. Thanks for the great music, Mr. Lord. your pal, Fred |

People criticize this song for it's simple riff, but I think that's what makes it so awesome. I could play this when I was 12, I felt like a rock star (before Rock Star). |

That is indeed bad news; he will surely be missed. The song that comes to my mind whenever his name is mentioned is "Hush", from 1968. A thunderous rush of Hammond organ throughout the entire song. Queens Plaza IND station also comes to mind when I hear that song - from a couple of subway rides I took with my Dad that summer (including my first ride on a Slant). wayne |
