Is George Zimmerman Judge-Shopping? |
|
Posted by JayZeeBMT on Sun Jul 15 09:16:16 2012 Tryvon Martin's admitted killer wants the current judge off the case. This is the second time the defense has asked for a different jurist. It certainly seems to me as though Zimmerman is looking for a friendly judge, after the current one, Kenneth Lester, said Zimmerman, "by any definition, flaunted the system" when the accused murderer and his wife lied about his finances.Mind you, Zimmerman is free on bail again, in spite of concocting a scheme to hide his assets and a second passport, from the court. He is really trying to weasel his way out of justice here. |

Not after being caught lying to the very judge you are trying to kick off the case. I think Lester has displayed the patience of Job with Zimmerman and his wife, considering the defendant's shenanigans to date. |

Considering he let them out on bail (again in his case) to begin with he's being quite lenient. This is a murder defendant we're discussing here, they usually don't get bail at any price. |

Given that he was granted bond again, the kerfuffle over the defense fund has been laid to rest.Zimmerman's lawyer is feeling pretty good these days. You can blame an overzealous prosecutor for that. There's zero chance the 2nd degree murder charge can be sustained now that the FBI states there's no evidence he was motivated by racial bias. |

This ”obviously biased” judge is the same one who let Zimmerman out on bail, twice. Given that most murder suspects are held without bail, I'd say this judge has gone out of his way to be lenient with Zimmerman. Could you see a judge here in NYC tolerating Zimmerman's duplicity--to say nothing of hiding a second passport, after being ordered to surrender the first one--for even ten seconds? |

He'll be acquitted, convicted of a lesser charge, or convicted of murder, and in all 3 cases we'll never really know if justice was served, because it all relates to his state of mind, which is unknown. The only significant national issue about Zimmerman was that he deserved to be carefully investigated, and not just sent off with a pat on the back. |

I would say a statement like "he is flaunting the law" about someone that hid money and a second passport from evidence in a bail hearing on a murder charge as prejudicial. Those are statements of facts. He IS flaunting the law. That he was let out on bail is the surprising action here. |

They have already decided he is guilty. Why do they keep showing a five year old picture of Treyvon Martin that makes him look like an angel, not the 17 year old 6 foot two menace that he was? More recent pictures are available which are only shown on the Internet, but all the media insists on showing that sweet picture of a little kid. I'm not saying that Zimmerman was definitely innocent. We won't know that until all th facts come out, but the press is clearly trying to mislead in this case. |
