What I see in these documents are law enforcement officials who are happy that they are making progress in identifying and indicting US gun dealers who are sending guns to Mexico. They are obviously aware that they have allowed some guns to get away from them, but aren't thinking of it as a serious law enforcement problem.This sounds like seriously fuzzy thinking from a bunch of people who should have known better, with tragic consequences. But I don't see anything criminal here, just incompetence. But that's up to prosecutors to decide, not us. |
