The President may have done coke in college. Lots of people did back then. He hasn't touched the stuff since. People have the capacity to grow.If this were some other board, I would post some cutesy picture about potentially being trolled, because no one can be this blatantly and openly hypocritical. As far as anyone knows, Mitt Romney hasn't committed a prank of this nature since he was in high school (or even then, given what's coming out as I type this) either. I'm sure he's "grown" beyond it, just like Obama grew from being a coke fiend. I'm not a psychologist, but I think you suffer from some of this and a whole lot of this. |

What Travis and Porky will never admit to was that While the Washington Post had the story on their on-line edition, it never made it to print. By the time that the paper went to press, they had backed away from the story. The alleged victim of the prank said it never happened. Of course, people of even average intelligence can see the timing of this story makes it a set-up. The President is forced to prematurely come out in favor of Same-Sex marriage and the Washington Post just conveniently finds a 48 year old story that allegedly makes Mitt Romney look homophobic. How Stupid are Travis & Porky, anyway? |

Here is an ABC-TV report, dated yesterday afternoon, which has an eyewitness account of Romney's bullying of John Lauber. Ronmey even apologized for his actions. No backing away here. In fact, attorney Phillip Maxwell, who watched Romney's attack on Lauber, described it as "bullying supreme" and says he regrets having done nothing to stop it.Maxwell says the incident is relevant to Romney's presidential campaign today, because it speaks to Romney's "character". Oh, and when did Lauber, the "alleged victim" of this prank say "it never happened"? The man's been dead since 2004... |

Interestingly, the Times has printed the story in the context of Romney's apology, which is news. They claim multiple people have verified it. On the other hand, Democrats would be fools if they tried to make anything out of this. Obama has plenty of youthful bad judgment to apologize for too. |

On the other hand, Democrats would be fools if they tried to make anything out of this. Obama has plenty of youthful bad judgment to apologize for too.Well written. The term "youthful bad judgment" is fair even as some will seek to define those words in relative terms; that is, prank v. bullying or hurting oneself (victimless) v. hurting another (victim). Whatever. I just cannot wrap my mind 'round the concept that this is anything other than making political hay per say. It was a HIGH SCHOOL ADOLESCENT. That does not in any way excuse the abhorrent behavior, not in the least, but come on already. We are talking about freaking high school. If that is a measure of his character and his ability to serve, as was pointed out in Nathan's post, well then, I am woefully out of touch. |

It all depends on how you define the term "successful business man". If gutting healthy American businesses to make a truckload of cash, while simultaneously putting thousands of workers out on the street, is your idea of "success", then yeah, I guess Romney was very successful. |
