Maybe the pizza was too heavy ... :)

Posted by SelkirkTMO on Tue May 1 20:21:32 2012

Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani visited a New York City firehouse with each man carrying three boxes of pizza as "a gaggle of photographers, cordoned off at a safe distance, snapped away."

Moments later, and likely thinking the press pool was out of sight, New York magazine caught Romney and Giuliani unloading "all six pizzas into the arms of an aide."

I've never been to Sal's pizza. Ah well ... being wrong is worse than making shit up. :)

I found a place that's supposed to sell a 70 something inch pizza. Maybe it was Michigan style with a lot of heavy dough!

Aside from hubcaps on a Caterpillar earth mover, what WOULD one do with a 70 inch pizza? Even in NYC? And I believe the largest wheel on Michigan earth movers is 56 inches. :)

Not interested either way ... does it really matter whose mob it is these days? They're still pikers compared to Goldman Sachs and friends. And those are the main guidos in the GOP. :)

I can link that pizza to something far worse than La Cosa Nostra.

It's called Bain Capital.

Link?

What's worse than LCN? I mean, Paul Castellano had his future son-in-law killed for saying that he looked like Frank Purdue.

One commands respect by having the capacity and will of executing the liquidation of those most close to him.

It shows others that if you can do it to them, you can do it to anyone.

It's the ultimate test of true leadership and Mr. Castellano was the last great leader of that now-defunct organization.

The mafia is all about blood ties. European monarchies, require that marriages be approved by the current monarch in order for the children to be considered legitimate and therefore able to inherit the throne. While useless in modern times when the true power rests in an elected parliament, it would have been gravely important in the days of Absolut Monarchy.

So mafia heads are just following that tradition when it comes to their heirs.

Yup. In fact, Paul Castellano was married to his first cousin. So was Carlo Gambino.

Yes. Because this prevents the power and the wealth from leaving the family. This is common in most cultures and the subject of many an HBD topic.

Giuliani was married to his cousin. Second cousin though I think. She's the president or chancellor or whatever the title is of Kingsborough Community College. Or was as of a few years ago.

If you are of Sicilian origin and don't want someone marrying your daughter, you just say:
"you will not marry my daughter" and that's the end of it.

The guy will have no choice.

Since most Americans think that everyone of Italian ancestry is some trigger-happy, tough guy, this rule applies to any Italian-American.

They'll fuck off.

Rather quickly too.

Pugliesi don't intermarry with cousins.

It's very frowned upon. Always was.

Puglia people freak out when they hear about it happening elsewhere.

I also doubt that people in Sicily today marry their cousins.

Those like Mr. and Mrs. Castellano were born 100 years ago.
