It was higher during the 80's under Reagan.I know you don't want to hear this, but things are picking up. I see "help wanted" signs up too, see houses being built and see my own business picking up. I'm guessing that the mother of the shop superintendent was hired to do war work, and stayed on after the end of WWII. However, in this case, I do think bingbong is correct--operating positions in the modern NYCT did not open up to women until the late 1970s, IIRC. |

The longest previous deficit streak on record was 11 months. *** Another record for the worst recovery ever recorded! |

I'm still waiting for someone to post proof of that. When I got to NYCT there were women there with seniority in operating titles. It seems that the only two people insisting that this is not true are two people who are not known for their accuracy in recounting history (They are both full of shit). |

Since you're good at pulling records, why not just go back to the early to mid 1970's and find one ... you're the one who claims there WERE women, find one. |

Women have lower IQ's (by about 4 points on average) than men. They also lead different lives (e.g., greater number of SAHM's). There's no reason to expect that the employment rates would be the same between the sexes. |

I find that hard to believe, not from some lab testing results but from actual behavior. I know a multitude of women who have prevented their men from doing some really stupid things. Seriously, I would look for a flaw in the IQ tests there.your pal, Fred |

Haha yes behind every great man...But yes, on average, women do have lower IQ. They also have a lower standard deviation, which means they are more clustered about the average; there are more men at both extremes (genius and ignoramus). But the edge that men have is in non-verbal reasoning, especially spatial reasoning. Women have an edge at verbal reasoning that allows them to tie men on certain IQ tests. The edge at verbal reasoning might be why great men need their women... ;) |
