LNA's advertise on Sharpton to pay tribute because he's an influential black activist who can cause them trouble. If there was consistency, they would not advertise on his show because he is controversial. Fact is the conservatives are losing audience in droves. Around America, real American talk is extremely popular, beating most other formats. And I can back this statement up. They didn't seem to have a problem with it before last year. Yes they have. But things got worse when Obama became president because it magnified the race issue. It attracted listeners for better or worse. It doesn't anymore. Real American talk is seasonal. Ratings are high during election season. They drop in off season. Even a drop for Rush and Hannity still lands them well ahead of Sharpton or most radio formats. For whatever the motivations of listeners are, they're checking out Rev Sharpton more and more. There is no proof of that. And the point I'm making is that he's controversial like Hannity and Rush and should not get ad dollars from McDonald's. But we all know why he does. He's a black activist and companies are making a statement when they give him money. |

RW talk radio's audience is roughly one third smaller today than it was just 6 months ago. It's been declining since the 2010 elections. They're not coming back, or that trend would be reversing by now, especially seeing how the RW is at the center of the republican primary contest.That's enough to spook advertisers away. It's enough to make boycotts stick. That's already happening, as even you've observed. You can't deny reality, much as you may want to. President Obama has been in office over 3 years now. These declines are just happening over the past year+, with the most severe drop occurring as the primaries got going. It has nothing to do with his election. That was a long time ago in newscycles. Fact is, their sh*t is stale, it's old, it's full of hate and people are tired of hearing it. Real "real Americans" are seeing that.

In most of America they're still by far some of the most popular stations.NYC Chicago LA Tampa Charlotte Everywhere you go in America, real American radio ranks high, even if ratings have dropped off since the 2010 elections. People like Hannity, Prager, Hewitt and Medved deserve national advertisers more than Sharpton does but their skin color and views prevent that from happening. There's no hate on any of their shows. |

But the left has the power and momentum to scare advertisers away from highly rated shows like Hannity and Mark Levin. But of course, you can listen to Al Sharpton on a weak station like 1600 AM, ranting against white people moving in near Ben's Chili Bowl. |
