'Range Extended' only means it's a series hybrid. No electric car has a tail pipe. The Volt is just a Prius with an outrageous pricetag and shitty GM build quality. People aren't going to pay a premium for a car which you get to BOTH plug in AND take to the gas station every few weeks. If they want a barometer for EV sales then go to the Leaf, which Nissan can't keep in stock despite having range no better than the 'failed' EV1. Or, better yet, wait for a real electric car in the Tesla Model S. |

Even if you take your $520 at face value and multiply it by 3 it's just over $1500 -- not $3000 as she claimed. Plus, as others have noted, there are even less expensive options available.If you're going to get up and testify before Congress you ought to have someone double check your math -- even if you're a law student. She went up there with exaggerations to support her cause -- it shouldn't surprise her to be called on them.
